Registered Nurse Pain Clinic

The Viera Outpatient Clinic is seeking a nurse to care for patients presenting to the Interventional Pain Clinic within the Ambulatory Surgery Section. These patients are frequently acute and require a high assessment and skill level to meet their care needs. Some of the procedures performed by the anesthesiologist at the Pain Clinic include:
Caudal/ Cervical/ Lumbar Epidural Steroid Injection, Stellate Ganglion Block and/or Trigger Point injection. RNs in Ambulatory Surgery are perioperative nurses, skilled to provide care to patients before, during, and after invasive procedures. They are responsible for triaging and assessing patients, assisting throughout the procedure, completing clinical reminders, responding to view alerts and performing post-procedure phone calls. The clinic requires a highly competent RN staff with ACLS certification to assist with the advanced procedures performed in this area. This RN will also participate in the development and implementation of performance improvement monitors to support activities to improve the overall quality of care delivery. The incumbent reports to the Nurse Manager, Specialty Clinics Viera. Work Schedule:
Normal work days/hours will primarily be Monday-Friday, 8:
00 AM to 4:
30 PM, with possible extended hours or Saturday hours as needed to meet the access needs of our veterans. To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement, Basic Requirements:
US Citizenship; Graduate of a school of professional nursing approved by the appropriate State agency and accredited by the ACEN (Accreditation Commission for Education - formerly the NLNAC) or the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE); Current, full, active and unrestricted registration as a graduate professional nurse in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth (i.e., Puerto Rico) of the US or in the District of Columbia; ACLS certification required; Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing. Preferred
Experience:
A Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing (BSN) is preferred; Previous experience with hemo-dynamic monitoring, IV and phlebotomy skills and monitoring patients under conscious sedation preferred; A minimum of two (2) years of Pain Clinic nursing experience with demonstrated sound judgment, nursing process and critical thinking stills preferred. Grade Determinations:
The following criteria must be met in determining the grade assignment of candidates, and if appropriate, the level within a grade:
Nurse I Level I - An Associate Degree (ADN) or Diploma in Nursing, with no additional nursing practice/experience required. Nurse I Level II - An ADN or Diploma in Nursing and approximately 1 year of nursing practice/experience; OR an ADN or Diploma in Nursing and a bachelor's degree in a related field with no additional nursing practice/experience; OR a Bachelor's of Science in Nursing (BSN) with no additional nursing practice/experience. Nurse I Level III - An ADN or Diploma in Nursing and approximately 2-3 years of nursing practice/experience; OR an ADN or Diploma in Nursing and a Bachelor's degree in a related field and approximately 1-2 years of nursing practice/experience; OR a BSN with approximately 1-2 years of nursing practice/experience; OR a Master's degree in nursing (MSN) or related field with a BSN and no additional nursing practice/experience. Nurse II - A BSN with approximately 2-3 years of nursing practice/experience; OR ADN or Diploma in Nursing and a Bachelor's degree in a related field and approximately 2-3 year's of nursing practice/experience; OR a Master's degree in nursing or related field with a BSN and approximately 1-2 year's of nursing practice/experience; OR a Doctoral degree in nursing or meets basic requirements for appointment and has doctoral degree in a related field with no additional nursing practice/experience required. Nurse III - Master's degree in nursing or related field with BSN and approximately 2-3 year's of nursing practice/experience; OR a Doctoral degree and approximately 2-3 year's of nursing practice/experience. The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
