Lead Medical Support Assistant

The Lead MSA (Team Coordinator) distributes and follows up work assignments, resolves daily workplace issues and maintains efficient workflow. Assignments at this level include, but are not limited to:
Assuring coverage of all areas of responsibility by conducting walkthroughs and informing supervisors of coverage gaps; conducts ongoing reviews to ensure quality of work; Ensures accurate and timely scheduling of appointments; providing guidance to staff members to include changes in policies and procedures; Distributing and balancing workload; orienting and providing on-the-job training for new and current employees; ensuring all training requirements are met and informing supervisors of identified gaps; Organizing the work structure of his/her assigned areas; and acting as liaison between MSA/AMSA, staff, and Veterans in order to resolve day to day conflicts. Lead Medical Support Assistant /GS-0679-07 The selectee may be required to work or travel between any of the locations within Corporate Orlando, including the new Lake Nona campus. The selectee may also be required to work various shifts on a permanent or temporary basis, based on patient care needs. This job opportunity announcement may be used to fill additional vacancies in similar positions within corporate Orlando. This includes the same grade level and occupational series, but may be used for a different service or location. BASIC REQUIREMENTS:
All applicants must meet the following basic qualifications. a. Citizenship. Must be a citizen of the United States. b. Experience and/or Education. (1) Six months experience of clerical, office or other work that indicates the ability to acquire the particular knowledge and skills needed to perform the duties of the position; or (2) One year above high school; or (3) Equivalent combination of experience and education are qualifying for entry level for which both education and experience are acceptable. (Transcripts required if using education to qualify). c. English Language Proficiency. Medical Support Assistants must be proficient in spoken and written English as required by 38 U.S.C. 7402(d) and 7407(d). d. Physical Standards. Must pass a pre-employment examination. In addition to the basic requirements above, all applicants must also meet one of the following grade requirements for a specific grade level. GS-7 (Lead MSA) Experience. At least 1 year of experience equivalent to the GS-6 grade level. Examples of qualifying experience includes, but is not limited to:
working collaboratively in an interdisciplinary patient aligned care team, coordinating with the patient care team to review the clinic utilization by using various reports, ensuring that clinic setup is closely monitored to effectively support the needs of the clinic and making any necessary adjustments, assisting with communications during the inpatient to outpatient discharge; facilitating secure messaging with the patient and team; notifying patients of normal lab results; developing and managing a tracking system for follow up care such as consults, tests, etc.; participating in team huddles and team meetings to manage and plan patient care; entering appropriate information into the electronic record; monitoring pre-appointment requirements to assure readiness for patient visit/procedure (e.g., X-ray, lab work); managing electronic wait list to verify and validating accuracy and resolve issues; monitoring and tracking the work of others doing these related duties; etc. References:

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
