The Viera Outpatient Clinic is seeking full-time dedicated Physicians to perform outpatient duties and management of scheduled and unscheduled patients. Duties include but are not limited to:
Manage the full spectrum of primary care issues, including consultation of patients with internal medicine complaints, diseases and injuries. Manage primary care patients by ordering lab work, ordering appropriate diagnostic tests, requesting consultations to specialty services, providing appropriate follow-up care, triaging of patients with non-medicine complaints, diseases and injures to appropriate disciplines for diagnosis and treatment. Work in a team setting with other physicians, nurse practitioners, registered nurses and support staff assigned to perform duties to accomplish the treatment of our patients. Use computerized systems to document notes, enter orders and request consults. Performing both academic and clinical duties. Perform outpatient duties and management of scheduled and unscheduled patients. Assign panel of patients, panel size is determined by VHA PCMM software package, panel size is specific to their practice and setting. Manage care of patients of different levels of complexity and ages. Patients requiring hospitalization will be referred to sister VA facility or Non-VA facility in accordance with guidelines. A recruitment/relocation incentive may be authorized to highly qualified individuals. Incumbent may be required to complete two-year probationary period. Basic Requirements:
All applicants must meet the following basic requirements. Citizenship. Citizen of the United States. (Noncitizens may be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with chapter 3, section A, paragraph 3g, this part.) Education. Degree of doctor of medicine or an equivalent degree resulting from a course of education in medicine or osteopathic medicine. The degree must have been obtained from one of the schools approved by the Department of Veterans Affairs for the year in which the course of study was completed. Licensure. Current, full and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or in the District of Columbia. The physician must maintain current registration in the State of licensure if this is a requirement for continuing active, current licensure. The facility Director may waive this licensure requirement if the physician is to serve in a country other than the United States and the physician has licensure in that country. Residency/Fellowship Training. Completion of residency training, or its equivalent, approved by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs in an accredited core specialty training program leading to eligibility for board certification. English Language Proficiency. Physicians, including residents, appointed to direct patient-care positions must be proficient in spoken and written English as required by 38 U.S.C. 7402(d) and 7407(d). Board Certification (highly preferred). Board certified or eligible in Internal Medicine. Physical Standards. Must pass a pre-employment examination. See below for additional information. Reference:

Must pass a pre-employment physical examination as required by VA Handbook 5019. This examination is administered by VA Occupational Health. This position requires:
light to moderate lifting (15 - 44 lbs); light carrying (15 lbs and under); reaching above shoulder; use of fingers; both hands required; walking (up to 2 hours); standing (up to 2 hours); kneeling (up to 1 hour); ability for rapid mental and muscular coordination simultaneously; near vision correctable at 13 to 16; far vision correctable in one eye to 20/20 and to 20/40 in the other; depth perception; ability to distinguish basic colors; ability to distinguish shades of colors; hearing (aid permitted); emotional stability; mental stability; working closely with others; and working alone. The selectee may be required to work or travel between any of the locations within Corporate Orlando, including the new Lake Nona campus. The selectee may also be required to work various shifts on a permanent or temporary basis, based on patient care needs.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
