Core
Responsibilities:
Prepare, examine, and analyze accounting records, financial statements, or other financial reports to assess accuracy, completeness, and conformance to reporting sales and use.
Compute sales and use taxes owed and prepare tax returns, ensuring compliance with payment, reporting or other tax requirements.
Report to management regarding the finances of the business.
Establish tables of accounts and assign entries to proper accounts.
Develop, implement, modify, and document recordkeeping and accounting systems.
Check figures, postings, and documents for correct entry, accuracy, and proper codes.
Operate computers programmed with accounting software to record, store and analyze information.
Debit, credit, and total accounts on spreadsheets and databases using specialized software.
Classify, record, and summarize numerical and financial data to compile and keep financial records.
Calculate account statements and other financial statements.
Record all items purchased in inventory spreadsheets.
Code documents according to company procedures.
Answer general accounting questions as well as those related to specific accounts.
Other duties as assigned by management.
Requirements:
Computer Skills:
Excellent computer skills in Microsoft Office with advanced skills in Excel Spreadsheets and knowledge of Peachtree or other accounting software.
MRP/ERP system knowledge a plus.
Communication skills:
Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing.
Organization:
Ability to be highly organized, detail oriented and able to respond to change quickly.
Physical Requirements:
While performing the duties of this job, the associate is frequently required to stand, walk and sit.
Use hands, fingers, to handle or feel; reach with hand and arms; talk and hear.
The associate must occasionally lift/and move up to 10 pounds.

Experience:
Required:
AA/AS degree in Accounting or Finance or- 2-3 years towards an in progress bachelors degree Preferred:
Bachelor s degree (BA) from a four-year college or university Source:
