POSITION SUMMARY The Software Engineer III serves as an experienced technical member of a software engineering team.
This role contributes to the design, development, and support of custom developed solutions while working across multiple software engineering disciplines.
Responsibilities can include full-stack development of custom applications, system integration, automation of tasks and workflows, scripting, database development/ETL/reporting, website development, and technical support.
The position will work closely with members of IT and the business to develop solutions for the organization that provide immediate value while scale efficiently while improving performance and minimizing costs.
The Software Engineer III will mentor less experienced engineers and performs both routine engineering tasks and more complex project functions.
This role may be a domain expert in a specific technology or discipline and can work independently with minimal supervision within their domain.
The Software Engineer III is a lead contributor to strategies, standards, new capabilities, automated workflows, and development of new services within the organization.
The Software Engineer III will have experience in design, development, and support of software, applications, tools, and security.
The position will require experience and advanced knowledge of common programming languages, design patterns, and Agile methodologies to quickly deliver value in an efficient and repeatable manner.
The Software Engineer III proactively works with customers, stakeholders, analysts, architects, and other engineers to troubleshoot and find root cause of technology and security defects.
They need to be excellent team players and have demonstrated experience across multiple systems.
The Software Engineer III will be a thought leader for certain technologies.
PRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITIES 1.
Lead contributor to the development of custom-developed software solutions while following defined standards and procedures.

Use approved development tools and coding languages.
Research and recommend potential tools and programming platforms to the team.
3.
Improve quality by actively leading software testing and code reviews.
Assure software accuracy, completion, and validity.
Responsible for technical system specification.
4.
Responsible for maintaining source code in approved repository and committing code at an approved interval.
Assist team in resolving merge conflicts and configuring branches.
5.
Work closely with the customer, vendors, and analysts to define advanced software solution requirements & specifications.
6.
Help drive/lead technical projects within their area of expertise.
Communicate with users and management the status and completion of work requests.
7.
Encourage the professional growth of junior engineers by training and mentoring them.
8.
Automate business and IT processes, workflows, and services.
9.
Work with and coordinate cross-functional teams and third-party vendors to ensure the health of Health First's IT systems.
10.
Regularly review existing systems and make recommendations for improvements.
11.
Diagnose and resolve coding bugs and system issues while coaching the team on the process.
12.
Support, install, maintain, and troubleshoot enterprise IT solutions with the ability to perform root cause analysis (RCA).
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS o Education:
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or equivalent STEM field o Licensure:

Intermediate level technical certification within one year of hire.

Experience:
o Four years experience in designing and developing custom software solutions.
o Experience working in an Agile software development methodology (Scrum preferred) o Advanced experience using modern code management (GIT) with complex branching strategies o Experience using continuous integration/deployment (CI/CD) o Work Experience in lieu of Education:
o Associates degree plus six years of applicable technical experience.
o Or, in lieu of no degree, eight years of applicable technical experience o
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
o Intermediate to advanced knowledge in one or more of the following Software Engineering domains:
Application development Automation engineering Robotic Process Automation (RPA) Application Integration Database Engine Web Development Cloud Development o Thorough understanding of modern programming languages and tools o Strong soft skills, verbal, and written communications, including the ability to turn complex technical topics into understandable terminology is a necessity.
o Proven ability to lead specific functions of projects and initiatives.
o Build trust among colleagues, be a continuous learner, and focus on delivering capabilities for the customer.

Experience:
6 years of experience preferred within healthcare or a similarly complex industry.

o Advanced experience in one or more of the following:
Microsoft development stack (.
NET/C#, Visual Studio) Web applications (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) Databases (query/reporting, ETL processes, designing table schemas) SQL Server Automation technologies RPA (UIPath preferred) Azure (Native-development, Azure DevOps, API Mgmt) Microsoft Power Platform and SharePoint365 Drupal/PHP PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS o Majority of time involves sitting or standing; occasional walking, bending, stooping o Long periods of computer time or at workstation o Light work that may include lifting or moving objects up to 20 pounds with or without assistance.
o May be exposed to inside environments with varied temperatures, air quality, lighting and/or low to moderate noise o Communicating with others to exchange information.
