Company Description Job Description Purpose:
Mechanical engineering and design for the installation of equipment, equipment racks, mounting trays and antennas into aluminum and composite construction helicopters and fixed wing airplanes including air transport.
Essential Skills Define mechanical integration of systems in the aircraft Create 3D models of equipment and aircraft structure in Autodesk Inventor following company standards and processes Create mechanical fabrication drawings in Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD Mechanical following company standards and processes Create on aircraft mechanical installation drawings in Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD Mechanical following company standards and processes Create drawing parts lists in Microsoft Excel and import into AutoCAD Mechanical drawings Create aircraft mechanical modification instructions in Microsoft Word Calculate modification aircraft weight and balance change Calculate and prepare structural analysis for the mechanical modifications following the requirements of 14 CFR Parts 23, 25, 27 and 29 Create instructions for continued airworthiness in Microsoft Word and Adobe Illustrator Create technical publications updates in the OEM format in Microsoft Word, Excel and Adobe Illustrator Create Portable Document Format (PDF) files, create bookmarks and apply security from document, workbook and drawing files using Adobe Acrobat Coordinate and oversee the work of a draftsperson that may assist in the mechanical design Ability to conduct detailed review of co-workers design data Ability to perform the tasks using at a minimum, aircraft and OEM equipment data only Perform tasks with minimal to no errors Ability to learn new functions by self-training Ability to adapt to company specific software with minimal training Essential Qualifications BSME or equivalent BS Engineering degree Eight years aircraft mechanical modification design experience Possess advanced level of computer skills using Windows 7 and Microsoft Office 2007 (Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint), this includes the ability to apply advanced formatting to Word documents and to create Excel workbooks Proficiency in:
Microsoft Internet Explorer 9, Autodesk Inventor 2013, Autodesk AutoCAD Mechanical 2013, Adobe Acrobat X Professional, Adobe Illustrator Creative Suite 6 Preferred experience in:
Space Claim Engineer, using a 3D hand held scanner, Airbus and Boeing SRMs, knowledge of 14 CFR Parts 23, 25, 27 and 29, knowledge of Military Standards and Specifications, Knowledge of SAE Standards and Recommended Practices, FAA Structures DER with Part 25 Damage Tolerance delegation.
