Job Description:
Radiation effects engineer will assist with system architecture trades, requirements analysis, and parts selection recommendations.
Parts selection and analysis will be performed, including gamma total dose testing and single event upset (SEU) testing of selected parts.
Single event testing can include both heavy ion testing as well as proton testing.
The testing and analysis are typically closely coordinated with the customers radiation effects engineer.
Develop an overall system single event upset error budget and analysis.
Monitor system for design changes and parts substitutions, which could affect the system radiation tolerance.
Advise programs on radiation lot acceptance testing (RLAT) as required.
The radiation effects engineer monitors on:
orbit performance to better understand when design margins are significantly greater or less than was predicted.
Support for resolution of on:
orbit anomalies if needed.
Other radiation:
related issues include support for spacecraft charging analysis and testing, maintaining an expertise of the availability of new rad:
hard parts, and keeping current on the latest radiation analysis tools and radiation effects technology.
Qualifications:
BSEE or BS in Physics (MS degree preferred).

years direct experience in the design of circuits and systems for space, especially involving analog and digital designs.
Preferred Additional Skills:
Semiconductor and particle physics knowledge is a plus.
Performing total dose, heavy ion, or proton testing is a plus.
